Lights Out Blasts Hey Arnold!

June 20th, 2018

As you may know by now, there will be another tournament at the venue this week, so we have a truncated schedule. We're sorry.

In Sunday's action:

--Zona 54, Really Big Team 50 - Adam Apodaca scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Zona's squeaker win over Really Big Team. Dawson Franco had 17 points on five threes for the losers.

--The Bullets 31, Barrio Benchmen 23 - Rocky Flores led the way for The Bullets, pouring in 18 points in the rousing victory.

--Flashback 65, Fleet 62 - In one of the best games of the season, Flashback roared back from a 34-22 halftime deficit to tie the game late and then win on Tacho Lara's three-pointer at the buzzer. Sam Okougbo scored a season-high 38 points to lead Fleet.

--Lights Out 100, Hey Arnold! 73 - In a rare juxtaposition, the usually high-scoring Hey Arnold! took a serious beating at the hands of Lights Out. Darryl Ball and Aaron Hardison each scored 20 points for Lights Out, while Jonathan Austad hit five threes and 25 points.

--Top Ballers 32, Below The Rim 31 - Below The Rim raced out to a 20-14 lead at the half, but Top Ballers made one of their patented comebacks to win at the buzzer. Chris Erickson had 12 points and 11 rebounds to pace the Ballers.

--INGWE 57, RTP 55 - Ochor Odol had 14 points in the tight win. Justin Williams had 14 points for RTP. With his team trailing by two with seconds left in the game, Williams took the ball to the hole. He might have been fouled on the shot, but the ref (me) didn't call it, partly because his teammate, Marcus Campbell, had a putback opportunity that would have tied the game and sent it into overtime. Obviously, that didn't happen.
