Since we are all in uncharted territory, I am going to go easy on those few people who have sent just the strangest emails. No, we're not going to blow off the end of the season. Yes, we know how many games each team has played and how many game remain to be played. As a matter of fact, I have done the schedule for the remaining two weeks of the regular season. However, we obviously don't know which two weeks those will be. I was thinking of posting them in this blog site (not on the schedule page) without dates, but I'm afraid that somebody might read them and assume that the games are scheduled for the upcoming week.
Without going into detail, I must say that I'm extremely disappointed with a couple of the emailers. Let me just say that if these were normal times, a couple guys would be looking for a new league to play in because they would not be welcome in the TBL. But, then again, if these were normal times, they probably would not have sent those emails in the first place. All we can ask is that everybody calm down a little bit. This situation sucks, but it sucks for all of us.
A lot of you are relatively new to the TBL, so you won't remember that this has actually happened before. We got shut down during the H1N1 outbreak in 2010 and again during the SARS outbreak. All I can say is that people in positions of authority have a different set of priorities than the rest of us.
We definitely will not have games next week, March 29th. After that, we'll see. I'm not particularly optimistic about April 5th and we won't have games on Easter Sunday, April 12th. But we'll see. As soon as we get the okay, we'll be back at it.
I was so bummed about the closing of the venue that I left last week's scoresheets in the trunk of my car until today. I've posted the scores and as soon as I'm done with this blog, I'll do the stats and we'll be all up to date.
Hang in. We'll be back as soon as possible.
